Transport Clerk (Afternoon Shift)

Location: Doncaster
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (13:00–21:00)
Pay Rate: £13.11 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (subject to successful completion of training and business requirements)

About the Role

Taylor Stevenson are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Transport Clerk to join their Transport Team on the afternoon shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, organised, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can communicate effectively with drivers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the timely dispatch of night drivers
• Conduct driver debriefs for inbound vehicles and brief outbound drivers
• Manage and respond to transport-related emails and telephone enquiries
• Accurately process order entries and maintain system integrity
• Support the day-to-day administration of transport operations
• Assist in resolving operational issues to ensure service levels are maintained

Skills & Experience

• Strong IT and PC skills, with confidence using internal systems (full training provided)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
