Mobile Plant Fitter
£18.00 - £23.00 per hour (DOE) | Permanent | 7:00am - 5:00pm | 5 Days per Week

Taylor Stevenson are proud to be working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join their established team.

This is a site-based role where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy mobile plant equipment. While the machinery is mobile, the role is based at a single site, so no travelling between customer locations is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain and repair loading shovels, 360 grabs, forklift trucks, telehandlers and other heavy mobile plant.
• Diagnose and repair engine faults using manufacturer diagnostic software.
• Identify and rectify hydraulic faults and leaks.
• Repair hydraulic rams and axles.
• Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.
• Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and to a high standard, minimising equipment downtime.

The Ideal Candidate:

This position is not suitable for car mechanics. We are specifically looking for an experienced Heavy Mobile Plant Fitter with a strong background working on construction, waste, recycling or industrial plant machinery.

You will have:

• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant.
• Strong diagnostic skills using manufacturer diagnostic software.
• Experience working on loading shovels, forklift trucks (FLT), telehandlers and 360 grabs.
• Solid knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and mechanical repairs.
• Welding experience.
• The ability to work independently and efficiently.

• Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm, 5 days per week.
• Some weekend working will be required to carry out servicing (specific days to be confirmed).
